The Karura Tennis Ladder provides an avenue for players in search of playing a competitive matches around their busy schedule and connect with other tennis players. Players are ranked based on their ability and, once the ladder competition begins, will be able to challenge each other. Players battle their way to the top by challenging players above them in the rankings. If they win, the will either trade place with their opponent or move above them in the rankings table.
The beauty of a tennis ladder is that it allows players of a similar ability to challenge one another and also challenge better players as they improve and move up the rankings. New players are placed at the bottom of the Ladder and must work their way up.
Challenges cannot be declined, unless there is already another accepted challenge in this round, and Ladder matches cannot be cancelled. However, the same Tennis players can only challenge one another every 2 months.
After each Ladder game has ended, both players are assigned new positions on the Ladder, depending on their current positions, and the result of the game.
It’s not a requirement to be a member to participate in the ladder – non club members can participate in the rounds as they wish.
Participation Fee per round is Ksh 1,000 per player per round and the match can be played at any other court and at own time as agreed between the players. Players will pay forest entrance fees and court fee if they wish to play in Karura.
